ROCK the Night Away is at the Wycombe Swan on February 8 and 9. The rock Concert and musical extravaganza is organised by Age UK Bucks to raise much needed funds to help older and vulnerable people in the area. The event aims to appeal to all ages with its vibrant and diverse line-up, starring Rock Choir, 50s tribute group The Rockabellas and the Pandemonium Drummers who performed at the 2012 London Olympic Opening Ceremony, with support from seven-piece Africa Junction, singer songwriter Hannah White, Justin Hart &The Hartbeats, George House, Jess Harvey and Tim Smith. A SINGER from Downley has a bright future after getting through to the national final in a singing competition. Rebecca Pearce, 23 was a runner up in the final of the ‘Horse Factor’ run by Greene King’s family pub brand, Hungry Horse. The ‘Horse Factor’ had more than 4,000 entrants from all over England and Wales with Rebecca getting down to the final 18. She walked away with £500 at the final at the Court Leet Hungry Horse in Bromsgrove.
MUSICIANS and songwriters Martin Davis and Ronnie Teape have teamed up to write a Christmas single dedicated to the Help For Heroes charity. The song entitled " I Found You" features the voice of Chesham girl Francesca Lewis on lead vocal and violin and her sister Miranda Lewis on cello. The song and video "I Found You" with all proceeds going to the charity is available for download from all iTunes and other leading music sites.
THINK Floyd is coming to the Wycombe Swan on January 24 at 7.30pm. The show is now in its 20th year and aims to recreate the atmosphere, visual magnitude and musical excellence of Pink Floyd live on stage.
