How long have you been coming to this pub?: I started coming here as a child with my family.

Why do you like this pub? They have always got a nice selection of real ales. They do fantastic homemade food- they do a really good macaroni cheese. It is quite traditional pub food like sausages and mash. It's really welcoming- in the winter they always have a nice open fire. Dogs are welcome which is important as I have a dog called Ace. The staff are really friendly. There is an historical feel to the pub.

What do you usually drink? They change the bitters around. I like to try usually one of the bitters they have got in. Adnams Ale I like. Spitfire if they have got it.

Where do you usually sit? There is a small bar around the back where there is a pool table. You can put your own CD on in this bit.

Do you think pubs still have a place in today's society? Yes I think it's really important that the pubs can exist and to help them exist we need to look at the way the taxes are put on alcohol particularly I think it is important not to punish social drinkers who enjoy a drink at the weekend. There is a difference between these and binge drinkers. Pubs are the focal points of communities- historically they always have been and I hope this continues. When I talk to friends abroad they always talk about our pubs.
