DISCOVER Dahl's Archives at The Roald Dahl Museum on January 5 at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, 81-83 High Street, Great Missenden. A behind-the-scenes look at their archive store which houses Roald Dahl’s manuscripts and letters, with collections manager and archivist, Rachel White. Free for Museum visitors. ON January 8 there is a Family History Talk: Was Your Ancestor Really Married? at 7.45pm at the Community Centre, Wakeman Road, Bourne End. Dr Colin Chapman outlines what constituted a valid marriage recognised by both church and state, and the circumstances under which our ancestors undertook their marriage vows. Surviving records will be highlighted. Non-members of Buckinghamshire Family History Society are very welcome; a small donation will be appreciated.

In the grounds of The Olde Bell are the historic beamed Tudor Tithe Barn and Victorian Malthouse- venues for an English Country Wedding. Both licensed to hold civil ceremonies with private gardens and rustic design.
