The George and Dragon in West Wycombe
12:00pm Friday 18th January 2013 in Freetime
Paul Bennett
Name: Paul Bennett
Age: 49
Occupation: Caretaker
Pub: The George and Dragon, West Wycombe
Who's George? A Roman/Turkish/Greek soldier/teacher who killed a dragon/serpent/ignorance at some point in the last 2000 years somewhere in the world.
How long have you been going there? More than 20 years
Why do you love it? It has a 'local' feel.
What do you look for in a pub? A friendly atmosphere, reasonable choice of ales and value for money.
What’s been your best night there? Most nights there are good but New Year 2011/12 was a cracker.
What do you normally drink? Guinness or Rebellion
Do pubs still have a place, or are they a bit out of date now? Pubs do have a place in society as somewhere you can catch up and chat face to face, not via the internet. They are a good place to network with your neighbours, recommend builders, decorators etc.
What's your specilist subject for a pub quiz? No specialist subject, just full of useless rubbish that springs to mind two minutes after it was wanted.
Is The George and Dragon your local? What do you like about it? Leave your comments below.
