How long have you been going to this pub: About two years, as often as I can, sometimes in the day if I am free but mainly evenings and weekends.
Where do you sit? Anywhere, unless its the evening, then I generally stand.
What do you like about the pub? Plenty, to start with the staff are always extremely inviting. The manager Nigel is very welcoming to everyone who comes here and personally I think he is one of the best bar managers I have met. All of the bar staff have a tremendous can-do attitude and will always go the extra mile to ensure I am happy, I'm sure they do this with other patrons as well. Now although it is kind of a night club, its still a pub in the day. It is not as busy as some of the other bars in town during the day, which is probably because it does not do food; but really is a good place to go no matter what time of day or night for a relaxing pint and chat. I have met some very nice people in Butlers and it does have a good mix of people who come in here to socialise, it is more of a venue to go and socialise and relax then anything else. There are also games which are played here, Deal or No Deal was fantastic, and also Poker which I enjoy, but never win. All in all this is a great place to be and for anyone who has not been before I would recommend a visit. Plus they have gambling machines.
Do pubs still have a place in society? Yes they do, of course they do. We have lost many traditional pubs in the UK, the old great British pubs. But everyone needs a place where they can go and no matter who you are or what you do, you will generally always find a little bit of peace and warm conversation in Butlers.
