EXPLORE the shadier side of Buckinghamshire’s history in a book by Dr Jonathan Oates.
Buckinghamshire Murders is full of murderous deeds and gruesome happenings Despite its seemingly tranquil and idyllic exterior, the county of Buckinghamshire has seen its fair share of murders of the years.
Some of the stories have made national headlines where as some have been forgotten, locked away in archives-until now.
This new title from historian Dr Jonathan Oates reopens cases of shootings, poisonings, strangulations and hangings from all around the county.
It includes cases such as the brutal slaying of a family of seven in Denham in 1870 and the killing of a butcher’s wife in Victorian Slough for which no-one was ever found guilty.
It is £14.99 available from all good bookstores.
