Join a farce in Beaconsfield

TAKE a kind-hearted Victorian magistrate (Mr Posket) and marry him off to a vain but beautiful young widow (Agatha Farringdon).

Throw in a silly deceit about her age and the fact that she has had to knock five years off the age of her teenage son (Cis) to compensate - and mayhem results.

Arthur Wing Pinero’s classic Victorian farce The Magistrate is a comic delicacy of rollicking proportions, where a precocious boy, lovelorn servants, pompous gentlemen, French waiters and elegant ladies all collide in a play packed full of mistaken identities and furious fun.

When the young Cis persuades his shocked step-father to accompany him to a night-on-the-town at the notorious Hotel des Princes, Agatha’s innocent little secret edges ever closer to a disastrous - and hilarious - conclusion.

A Beaconsfield Theatre Group production from February 20 to 23 at The Beacon Centre in Beaconsfield.

Performances start at 8pm. Tickets £12 (concessions £10) Buy online at www.btg-theatre.org or call 07880 96251
