What's on

CONDUCTOR of the A40 choir, David Meacock, is encouraging people to join the group which has inspired many people to make the most of their singing voice.

Meacock himself sang at the Chalfont St Peter Feast Day Queen Tribute Band Concert in June in front of 7,000 people.

He sang three arias and said: “My four and two-year-old children heard both, and have been singing their own abridged versions of all three arias, with some of the Italian words too, ever since, at great volume, so I'm hoping a few of the other audience might be similarly inspired to join the A40 Choir!.”

The unauditioned choir is open to all aged 16 and above. Rehearsals are on Mondays at 7.45pm in Beaconsfield and includes basic vocal training.

See the A40 choir page of www.a40music.com for further details or call Meacock on 01753886005.

SIXTIES Gold will be at the Wycombe Swan Theatre on September 23 at 8pm.

The original stars of the decade- Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Searchers, PJ Proby and Chip Hawkes will be performing in a night of nostalgic hits.

Tickets cost £22.50 and £25 from 01494512000 or go to www.wycombeswan.co.uk.

DEREK Nash will be at the Marlow Jazz Club on September 14 playing his priceless Grafton- a white acrylic alto saxaphone.

He will play a full set of Charlie Parker tunes and will also bring various other saxes.

He is leader of the Sax Appeal and star soloist in Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra. Music starts at 8.30pm in the Marlow British Legion Hall. More details at www.marlowjazz.co.uk.
