THE time has come again when artists from across the county fling open their doors to welcome members of the public to their homes and studios.

Bucks Open Studios is now in its 25th year and runs from June 18-26 with more than 450 artists and makers taking part holding exhibitions and other demonstrations.

An art project called Out of the Dark is stepping up to the challenge and displaying its work during the two weeks.

The social enterprise helps train and employ young people form disadvantaged backgrounds to recycle and revamp salvaged furniture to bring it back to life and avoid it going into landfill.

The project is a spin off from Street Dreams, which was set up to support disadvantaged young people with life coaching, sports, arts and media.

Out of the Dark can be found at Unit 6, Abercromby Works, Oakridge Road, High Wycombe.

At St Dunstan's Church in Burton Lane, off Mill Lane in Monks Risborough there will be a group of artists displaying their work in mixed media.

Husband and wife Val and Phil Zec, of Ashley Green, will be showing their work with four other artists from June 22 from 10.30am-5.30pm until July 3.

The group called 4 plus two will exhibit work ranging from acrylic painting, metal shaping, coiled pots and acrylic turning at the home of Brenda Hurley at Oddyfields, Cow Lane, Tring.

Collective art in Marlow brings a diverse range of art and craft together during the last two weekends in June at the Pugin Rooms, which is part of St Peter's Church.

There will be glass making sessions and other demonstrations during the weekend.
