WINSLOW Concert Band is holding a workshop on September 4 at Winslow Public Hall, Elmfield Gate. All aspiring musicians can attended the day under the musical director and composer Colin Touchin. The event is open to all players of woodwind and brass instruments as well as bass guitar and double bass. Recommended grade three and above. It runs from 10.30am-4.30pm. THE Chiltern Film Society has released its new season of films to be shown at the Elgiva, Chesham. The season kicks off on September 7 at 8pm with an Argentinean film, The Secret In Their Eye. A NEW photographic exhibition showing 'One Soldier's War in Afghanistan' will begin at the River and Rowing Museum on September 3 running until January 29. It the features the photography of T A Reservist Major Paul Smyth and the day to day realities of life from the front line. Many of his images have been used by news media internationally. Smyth is from Henley-on-Thames and had been mobilised six times serving in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. The museum in Mill Meadows is open every day from 10am-5.30pm in summer and 10am-5pm in winter. Admission is £8 for adults and £6 for children and gives free admission for a year.
