THE dancers in Essence of Ireland did not put a foot wrong during their energetic and professional performance at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on Tuesday.
From start to finish the songs were note perfect, the dancing effortlessly skilful and I left feeling I knew the Emerald Isle that little bit better.
The show follows the story of two young Irish sweethearts who are forced to be apart when the man leaves Ireland to find work and ends up in New York.
The tale is told through Irish songs both traditional and modern with the audience being encouraged to sing-a-long and with the help of narrator and musician Ged Graham.
Graham has a unique way of making the audience feel part of the show and has an amazing signing voice.
The other band members were also amazing and seemed to put their heart and soul into the music.
But of course, it was the dancers who really stole the show.
I looked on in amazement as all ten danced with perfect timing and did not seem to even break a sweat during the energetic dance routines.
But there was also a few twists as the Irish dancing was mixed with Salsa and a brilliant scene based in New York- with brooms!
The audience were undoubtedly kept entertained throughout and the mix between songs and dancing makes sure it never gets dull.
