What's coming up in the weeks ahead in Bucks

UNIVERSAL is holding open casting for extras in the musical feature film, Les Miserables. They are looking for men and women aged between 16-90 who will pretend to be people from 19th century France. Potential extras must be able to take direction well and be within easy access to Pinewood Film Studios. No experience required. Open casting on February 12 from 10am-4pm at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Silk Street, Barbican, EC2Y 8DT. Basic pay is £110 a day and food and drink supplied. Filming dates will be in March.

THE Dore Ensemble with members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra will be performing an evening of Chamber music for flute, harp and strings on May 11 at 7.30pm at St Andrew's Church in Chinnor. The evening will be hosted by Bill Giles to raise money for Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. There will be a raffle and refreshments in the interval. AS part of the Chesham Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations The Elgiva in Chesham will be screening Chocolat (12) on February 28 at 7.30pm, featuring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche. There will also be a short Fairtrade film shown called Swap Your Choc, to find out about some of the cocoa farmers in Ghana whose lives are benefiting from Fairtrade. There will be stalls to browse afterwards- Auberge du Chocolat, Yummy Scrummy and Traidcraft. Tickets cost £6 (£5 concessions) from 01494582900 or www.elgiva.com.
