TWO world famous and legendary saxophonists will lock horns at Marlow Jazz Club's next event this month, being advertised as the Gig Of The Year.
Jean Toussaint, tenor and soprano saxes, originally from the Antilles Islands and a former member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers will link up with the alto sax player always rated as Europe's finest - the great Peter King.
Since a first encounter at the Marlow Jazz Club some years ago they have now played several dates together and have built up a fine rapport and mutual respect.
King was voted Young Musician Of The Year way back in 1959 by Melody Maker and has been Number One alto ever since those days.
The resident Frank Toms Trio will be providing the backing and are eagerly anticipating a return match up between two of the biggest names on the current jazz scene.
The gig is at the Royal British Legion Hall, starting at 8.30pm, on September 18.Tickets are £8 from 01628 486571.
