Once again Forum Players have offered a clever and thought provoking play.
Well, directed by Ellie Jones and written by Anthony Deacon who was also assistant director, it was performed mainly by their very talented youth group with just a few adult actors.
It tells of a group of youngsters on a school trip whose coach breaks down. They arrive at a run down hotel and find themselves in the middle of a crisis.
A virus has escaped from a secret laboratory and there is a 5 mile radius lock down so that they are unable to escape.
Something horrible is lurking in the cellar and as members of the group become infected with a disease and its devastating effects the tension mounts.
The excellent set together with brilliant lighting and effects, especially the helicopter was superb and all those involved deserve credit.
Although some of the group, were quite young the acting standard was extremely competent.
The multitalented Anthony Deacon who is not only a playwright, actor director he also runs the youth group, and credit must go to him for the high standard achieved.
Sally Joseph-Green was responsible for the excellent makeup which added to the atmosphere. Well done Forum Players, I believe your next production is one that has won awards at the Maidenhead Drama Festival and I look forward to being invited.
