Amersham Band prepare for Musicfest

THE Amersham band took part in the fourth section of The Brass Band National Finals.

The band earned their spot with an emphatic victory in the London and Southern counties regional contest earlier in the year.

In the finals they performed a new piece named ‘A British Isles Suite’ and finished in 13th place.

The bands Musical Director Paul Fisher said: "We are thrilled and proud to have been able to compete in the finals. The band also secured promotion to the third Section in 2013."

It will be holding a community Musicfest concert at The Elgiva in Chesham on October 13. They will be joined by Jubilate Ladies Choir and Gordon Campbell, lead player in the BBC Big Band.
