Penn Festival nominated for award

The 2012 Penn Festival is heralded on its website as ‘The year optimism, team spirit and unity triumphed over adversity’ the year it rained.

The UK Festival Awards agree. The self attributed “Oscars of the contemporary music festival business” have nominated the Penn Festival for the second year running.

The two day family friendly event headlined Soul 2 Soul this year. The team of hard working creatives and organisers behind the Penn Festival have been recognised in two categories: best family friendly festival and best small festival.

Manjit Jaspal and Nick Billinghurst, Penn Fesival organisers, said: ‘Given that we had to battle with atrocious weather conditions, 2012 was a very tough year and we are delighted Penn Festival is in the running for awards’.
