THE new Dr Who series has proved a success with viewers and critics alike.
And now, ten year old Lauren Wilson from High Wycombe is set to star in the show.
Lauren, from the High Wycombe based Jackie Palmer Agency, will play Lucy Cartwright in two episodes of the BBC One drama series.
"I am a huge, huge fan of Dr Who and watch every episode, long may it reign," Lauren laughs.
"It was very exciting to star in such a big television show. This was a dream role for me."
Lauren has been acting for two years, and her first role was an extra in ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders. She has also appeared in a commercial and three other television dramas.
Despite only acting for a short while, Lauren has been bitten by the bug. "I really enjoy playing different roles and find acting very exciting," she says. "I hope to get some more parts in other big television shows."
And working on Dr Who has inspired Lauren, who calls acting her "dream".
"Freema Agyeman (Dr Who's new assistant) is really cool and a very good actress," she says. She also enjoyed working alongside Dr Who himself: "David Tennant is a very good actor and is the best Dr Who to date," she says.
Lauren spent six weeks in Cardiff last November filming her appearances, and remembers: "I had a great time on set and everyone on the production team were very nice to me.
"It was a fantastic opportunity. I thoroughly enjoyed acting in Dr Who."
Lauren Wilson appears in Dr Who on Saturday, May 26 and Saturday, June 2. Tomorrow's episode is on BBC One from 7.10pm to 7.55pm.
