MORE than 250 local young people, 11 days of rehearsals, four public performances and one musical!

Yep, the Wycombe Swan's Summer Youth Project is back, and this year the cast and crew will take on their biggest challenge yet, staging a production of one of the greatest musicals of all, My Fair Lady.

This, the 16th summer youth project, tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a poor cockney flower girl who is taken on a journey of transformation into a high society lady when Professor Henry Higgins wagers a bet with friend Colonel Pickering. And after an intensive makeover of Eliza's speech, manners, and dress in preparation for her appearance at the Embassy Ball, will she be accepted into sophiscated Victorian circles or be outed as a fraud?

An absol-blooming-lutely-luvverly timeless tale of love and class, My Fair Lady is sure to have you tapping your toes to classics including I Could Have Danced All Night!, Wouldn't It Be Lovely?, With A Little Bit of Luck, and The Rain In Spain.

Casting was announced last week ahead of rehearsals which begin at the end of July, with Rebecca Harrison and Elliot Fitzpatrick landing the starring roles of Eliza and Professor Henry Higgins.

As well as acting, singing and dancing the 250-strong company will also be in charge of stage managing, scenery, lighting and sound, and with just 11 days to get prepared, the pressure is on!

My Fair Lady will be at the Wycombe Swan from Thursday, August 7, to Saturday, August 9, 7.30pm. Matinee on Saturday, 2.30pm.
