Sonata or Fantasy?
Husband and wife Colin and Mayumi are both professional performing musicians. They have joined forces for an evening of piano duets and two piano repertoire pieces. They will be performing a programme bookended by Schubert. They close the concert with Wanderer Fantasy, a perennial classic. The concert will also feature Prokofiev’s Sonata in A Major, the first of his three War Sonatas and Beethoven’s famous Moonlight Sonata.

Pop-up Cinema
As part of the Wycombe Arts Festival two films will be screen at a pop-up cinema showing Fantastic Mr. Fox (PG) and Fargo (18). The event is run by a film graduate from the University of Southampton and has brought his passion for cinema back to his home town of High Wycombe.

Awesome Animal Trail

Fairest Isle
A programme of works by English composers, performed by the Keats Quartet, featuring Howells and Bax, whose music is under-performed, particularly their instrumental chamber works, despite standing shoulder to shoulder with England’s finest composers. Howard Alden
Winner of countless polls and awards, and widely acknowledged as the world’s leading jazz guitarist, Howard Alden makes a short British tour during May and will stop off at Marlow Jazz Club. Born in 1958, and a prolific recording artist on both Arbors and Concord labels, Howard has appeared on more records than any other living jazzman, over 200 at the last count, both under his own name and with other bands. Howard is touring with top saxophonist Ollie Wilby, Simon Woolf on bass, and Denis Smith on drums.
