LIVE art is coming to a studio in High Wycombe in the form of Richard DeDominici, who will be doing a performance of his new show Popaganda.

The artist will perform on Wednesday at 6.30pm at The Angelika Studios in Commercial Square.

In 2011 he performed in Tokyo, New York, Amsterdam and Berlin and was shortlisted for the Arts Foundation Fellowship, nominated for the Jerwood Trust Moving Image Prize, and was an Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award finalist.

The show "attempts to destabilise global cultural hegemonies with a series of stupid audiovisual gags, songs that aren’t real, facts that aren’t funny, and jokes that don’t rhyme."

It was recently performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it received four stars and is designed to change wherever it goes so you never see the same show twice. Angelika Studios was set up in January 2011 by four graduates from Bucks New University.

It is based in a former furniture factory and aims to be a hub for contemporary art. The studio has been given some funding from Wycombe District Council to support its programme of events, bringing artists from around the world to High Wycombe.

They are about to put on an exhibition of their first open selection competition. Popaganda is at the studio on October 17 at 6.30pm.
