The pantomime season is in full swing and The Masque Players, strongly supported by their youth wing Masquerade offered their rendition of this very popular story.
Well directed by Ewen Haynes and Sheelagh Jones it galloped along at a lively pace With a very strong cast including a young and glamorous dame, some delightful youngsters and the usual baddy who everyone loves to boo.
It was suitable for all the family. The lighting was excellent including strobe lighting used to its best advantage, a smoke machine for the ghost scene and some lively singing and dancing and lots of comedy including the usual corny pantomime jokes.
A very lively schoolroom scene produced a considerable amount of comedy and it was evident from the audience reaction that they loved it. There were some gorgeous costumes and superb backdrops which added to the overall effect of the show, Staged in a small village hall the group made the most of the space including using the auditorium which always gives a more intimate feel to the proceedings.
This was a great evening’s entertainment.
