Chronic pain group
Chronic pain/fatigue can often have a psychological or emotional component that is rarely addressed by conventional medical treatment. This is often viewed as being all in the mind which suggests that the sufferer has some control over the pain or fatigue. This type of condition is often viewed with suspicion as if the sufferer is "putting the illness on" just because there is no obvious physical injury. These conditions have very real symptoms which need addressing before a person’s recovery can begin. These symptoms do not go away with rest, some people may wake up feeling unrefreshed by sleep, to the extent that people describe waking up feeling like they have been "run over by a bus. This is a group designed for people who want to find support and feel able to freely discuss their experiences and frustrations with others who face similar physical challenges without feeling judged. Chris Dobrowolski
Tells the tale of his journey across Europe in All Roads Lead to Rome. Chris lovingly restored his family’s classic Triumph Herald Estate, which his father bought in 1967. Chris then drove it from his family home in Essex to where the car was designed in Italy, despite its quintessentially British connotations. Along the way, Chris’s journey became an investigation into his father’s time as a Polish solider in the Italian Campaign. Chris visits many of the places his father visited whilst fighting and ponders what his life was like during and after the Cold War. Using old family photos, many of which feature the car, new film and surprising mechanical objects, Chris tells the tale of his journey, and what he saw, learnt and discovered along the way.  Tickets are £14 (£12 conc) from 01628 788997 or go to www.nordenfarm.org.
