The Mayor's Charity Ball

Cllr Trevor Snaith is hosting the ball as Mayor of High Wycombe, and proceeds this year will go to Child Bereavement UK and One Can Trust. Pen Hadow

The only person to trek solo, without resupply, from Canada to the North Geographic Pole is coming to Amersham to talk about the issues and challenges, the setbacks and risks, and the key lessons learned from this and his other polar exploits. He will also take questions on his work with the multi-award winning series of Catlin Arctic Surveys which investigated the rates, causes and global impacts of the fast-disappearing Arctic sea ice. Beechwood Artists

The Amersham based art group will hold their Spring Art Exhibition. Last years' Spring exhibition attracted 364 visitors and the group hope to see again many of their loyal supporters and many new faces. Admission and parking is free and refreshments will be available at the venue. Beechwood Artists is a thriving local group with currently 114 members working in a range of painting media and styles. All share an enthusiasm for painting and participating in exhibitions of the groups work. Spencer and the Aftermath of the First World War.

The Stanley Spencer Gallery's summer exhibition starts on April 2 and runs until November 3. It is entitled 'Paradise Regained. Spencer in the Aftermath of the First World War'. The theme, timed to coincide with the 2014 Centenary of the Great War, is to examine the effect this momentous event had upon Stanley Spencer's art. On display will be key paintings from the period through which the artist sought to regain the artistic vision he feared lost as a result of the trauma of war. Cheese Makers Market.

The UK’s top event for cheese lovers.
