Chiltern Open Air Museum
A packed programme of events over Easter offer families lots of choice for exciting things to do including the Terrific Tuesdays with an Easter theme on 15 April, joining the holiday club for 5 to 12 year olds and visiting over the Easter weekend to make traditional Easter treats such as Easter biscuits, or have a go at some fun craft activities and games. Chesham Mayor gym and swim opening.
Mayor, Cllr Mark Shaw, officially marks the start of the summer pool season at 10am. He’ll be joined by a host of ‘mini Mayors’ who’ll be taking a plunge into the pool to celebrate the occasion. Aqua Aerobics class follows at 10.30 to 11.30am, with general swimming from 11.30am until 5pm. Exhibition

Wycombe in World War 1
Exhibits include an actual propeller from one of the aircraft manufactured by local furniture factories. B. North & Sons and R.Tyzack were both major suppliers of aircraft parts as were other specialist woodworking businesses in the district. Local Terriers boy Geoffrey de Havilland was responsible for aircraft design for Airco at Hendon, helping significantly with the war effort before setting up his own company in 1920. The exhibition is interactive, with a replica walk in ‘dugout’, handling objects, clothing and music. Entrance to the Museum and the exhibitions are free. For further information call 01494 421895.

John Craven, BBC Countryfile Presenter
Guest speaker at Macmillan Cancer Support lunch. John Craven OBE, one of Britain’s best-known broadcasters and presenter of the popular BBC Countryfile programme, will speak about his life and career following lunch in the hotel’s newly refurbished Riverside Restaurant.  Signed copies of his latest book, John Craven's Countryfile Handbook, will also be available for purchase on the day. Gala Concert
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity (FNHC) has announced that it is to host a special Gala Concert, as part of the ongoing 25th anniversary celebrations of the hospice. The concert will be held in St George’s Church and will be an evening devoted to choral music with headline act The Dunvant Male Choir and performances from the Halton Military Wives Choir, as well as an appearance by local musician and guest soloist Scarlet O’Shea.
