1. THIS weekend the Great Missenden Food Festival will feature more than 100 exhibitors including regionally produced and internationally acclaimed artisan food and drink. Running from today (Friday) to Monday at Buryfields in Great Missenden from 10am to 5pm. This year they will be welcoming Cathryn Dresser from series three of the Great British Bake Off on Easter Sunday. She will be delighting the crowds with baking demonstrations and hints and tips to keep your bakes soggy bottom free. There are free of charge masterclasses for all ages and free kids food lab and cookery school. On Bank Holiday Monday they will be holding the BBQ Cook Off competition where six teams of two will cook off against each other for the chance of winning a Broil King BBQ. 2. IF you’re looking for something to keep the kids entertained this Easter weekend Chiltern Open Air Museum presents Easter Treats; come down tickle your taste buds, embrace your artistic side and get creative making some yummy treats such as Easter nests. Get crafty with Easter themed family crafts and take part in traditional family games including skittles, half-penny and dominoes. There’s plenty of opportunity for children to burn off lots of energy exploring the beautiful 45 acre site with the help of free trails and resources, and they can even take part in an Easter Egg hunt. 3. TAKE part in a Cadbury Easter Egg Trail at National Trust properties in the area this weekend. Once again Cadbury and the National Trust are joining forces to bring chocolate-flavoured egg-citement to the Easter holiday at a beautiful place near you. This year the theme is "discovery", so children are invited to become a Cadbury Eggsplorers as they follow a trail to win themselves a chocolate egghead prize. Each trail is unique to its location so young Eggsplorers will be finding out about each special place as they take part in the trails. 4. ENJOY the Easter Weekend at Missenden Abbey. 5. A SPONSORED walk in aid of Stokenchurch Dog Rescue is being planned for Easter Sunday from the charity's kennels at Tower Farm, Oxford Road, Stokenchurch from 11am. Check-in at 10.30am with a choice of five or ten kilometre country walkies. The person with the most sponsorship money will be awarded an Easter egg.The walks have been a great fund-raiser in previous years. Dogs from the kennels can be booked in advance by calling 01494 482695 or you can bring your own dog, someone else's or you can walk without a dog. Youngsters under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds will go to help dog welfare and erect new fencing.
