1. THE eight Penn Street village Beer Festival is here. Kicking off today at 11am and finishing on Sunday. There is free entrance to this popular beer festival, which takes place at The Squirrel and The Hit or Miss.
Highlights this year will include: a beer tent and alehouse with more than 100 British ales and ciders, great live bands throughout each day, children's entertainment including bouncy castles, slides, coconut shy and more, a race night, traditional village cricket on the common and plenty of food available to buy. The festival will once again be raising money for charities including Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and Wycombe Homeless Shelter.

2. THE Wycombe Swan opens its doors for its Free Family Fun Day this Sunday. The day will allow access all areas to members of the public to see the stage, dressing rooms, and much more and a variety of workshops will be available including dance, drama, cookery demonstrations and stage demonstrations. Doors open from 10am and activities run throughout the day until 3pm. This is a free entry event for the whole family. Some activities may incur a cost. 3. GREAT Missenden's village visit day takes place tomorrow (Saturday). Visit the Road Dahl Museum and Story Centre for free if you live in the HP area. Join in with a Golden Ticket Trail where visitors can hunt for five tickets around the museum to find out facts about Roald Dahl. Take a behind-the-scenes look at their archive store which houses Roald Dahl’s manuscripts and letters, with collections manager and archivist, Rachel White at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm (Age 10+ £1 per person), and join in with storytelling and drop-in crafts throughout the day. Free entry for HP postcode residents - bring a utility bill as proof. Archive tours are £1 per person.

4. POPULAR medieval re-enactors Pelican-in-her-Piety present medieval tents, armoured knights and cooks to bring a slice of medieval life to the Chalfonts. Visitors can discover more about aspects of medieval life including music, make up and food with baking bread demonstrations, butter churning, cheese straining and cooking over wood fires. The highlight each day will be the weapons and combat demonstrations of medieval fighting techniques. Visitors can see demonstrations of medieval archery using 140 pound war bows like the ones used in the battle of Agincourt, as well as battling knights in full armoured combat each afternoon. Tickets are £9.50 for adults, £6 children and family tickets available. It takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm at Chiltern Open Air Museum, Chalfont St Giles, HP8 4AB 

5. MANAGED by SV2G, Wycombe Community Festival is a family event that provides a platform and showcase for young musical talent. It starts tomorrow (Saturday) at 12pm and lasts until 8pm on The Rye in High Wycombe. The carnival parade starts at 12pm. It will be hosted by BBC Radio 1 Xtra DJ, Seani B.
