1. PENN Festival is finally here. It opens today at 4pm at The Big Park in Horsemoor Lane, Penn Street. Jus Chillin will be playing tonight from 7.30pm and Take Me To The Bridge from 9pm on The Manor Estates Stage. Then tomorrow the live music will start with Whigfield at 12.30pm and throughout the afternoon and into the evening The Selecter, Phatts and Small, Betty Boo and more will be playing. On Sunday From The Jam, Hot Chocolate and Buzzcocks take to the stage. As well as live music there is lots to do for children and there are plenty of stalls and refreshments. 2. THE High Wycombe Half Marathon takes place this Sunday from The Rye at 9.30am. Watch the hundreds of runners take on the 13.1mile route and there is also a 10km race too. Runners can enter on the day for £20 for the half marathon and £18 for the 10km.

3. THE award winning Royal Harmonics and guest artists will be performing a variety of traditional and modern close harmony a capella songs in support of South Bucks RSPCA. The evening will feature tributes to the Beatles, Queen, Frank Sinatra. Van Morrison, Simon & Garfunkel, the Beegees and others, while artists appearing with the Royal Harmonics include the Ladies from Capital Connection, Catch 22, Kings of the Road and Normal Lilly. Tickets for the evening, which starts at 7pm, are £10 each including a buffet supper and are available by calling 07956 570084. 4. THE acclaimed gardens at Old Thatch in Bourne End are open to the public every Sunday until the end of August. Enid Blyton discovered Old Thatch in the summer of 1929 when she was looking for a new home and lived here for ten years. The gardens are open every Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday until August 31 between 2 and 5.30pm. Entrance is £4 for adults and £2.50 for children between five and 13. Under fives free. 5. THE British Hovercraft Championship takes place this weekend at Claydon House, near Middle Claydon. More than 70 of the countries top pilots will descend on Claydon House for the two days of racing. The craft some of which are capable of speeds up to 80mph will race over the combined land and water course. There will be 14 races per day for the five classes , junior races and all action open races where qualified drivers will compete in craft of all classes Practice commences at 10am on Saturday with racing from 11am to 5pm. There is an earlier start on Sunday with practice from 10am and racing from 11.30am to 4.30pm. Entry is £5 per person and £15 per car to ensure that spectators get an inexpensive day out with an exciting days racing.
