1. RUN, jog or just walk this Saturday in the Wycombe Abbey parkland. The event is organised by Thames Valley Orienteering Club and is ideal for all ages and abilities. An orienteering race does not follow a set route. Instead you have to visit a series of checkpoints and register each one with an electronic timing chip.  The checkpoints may be along paths, streams, earth banks or around the parkland.  The challenge is to decide what you think the quickest route will be between the checkpoints and then to find your own way along that route using a special orienteering map, which you get to keep. There will be several courses to choose from, ranging from shorter courses for children and families, up to 5km for runners.  Help will also be available for newcomers.  Registration and parking will be at Wycombe Abbey School, Abbey Way, High Wycombe, HP11 1PE.  The cost is just £5 for adults and groups, or £2 for juniors.  Just come along on the day between 10am and midday and don’t forget your sense of adventure.
