Meet up groups

Mingle and Chat: Are Meetup Groups Really Necessary?
Have nothing better to do tonight? Why not spend it with fellow Revellers relaxing, chatting, and having a good time instead of keeping the TV company? This is just an excuse to share the company of others, while making new friends. However, there is always a specific topic that they can use to put the world to rights. This month's question concerns the idea of social meetup groups. Some thoughts to ponder before we meet:
Are meetups really useful or necessary? Are they creating their own need? Should members be restricted to joining a maximum number of groups? What do you like about meetups the most? What irritates you about them? If meetups weren't there, what would you like to see in their place? Tickets: £5 annual membership. wmevellers@gmail.com.
29 August, 8pm, The George & Dragon, The Causeway, Marlow.

New Members Greeting
Single, new in town, or not doing anything tonight? Join the FabOver50s Singles meetup group, and enjoy a relaxing evening out interacting with other new members, meeting some friendly faces, or even find a new date, while having a drink. A welcome get together for new members to hang out for a while, and introduce themselves, and to make new friends, with the opportunity to find a companion or partner. Better than keeping the TV company. Register on the website: http://www.meetup.com/Fun-Fab-Over-50-Singles/ Tickets £10 annual membership.
30 August, 8.30pm, The George & Dragon, 85 The Causeway.Marlow.
30 August, 8.30pm, The Three Horseshoes, Wycombe Road.Marlow.

Let's Meetup for a Scenic Walk
How about a brisk, energetic walk by the beautiful, scenic Marlow river on a Sunday morning, but not too early? In fact, just enough time to be back for lunch or drinks at the nearest pub. This gives the best of both worlds: a bout of useful refreshing exercise, and in relaxed congenial company. They meet at the gates of Higginson Park (parking available at Court Gardens centre parking) and walk as far as 45 minutes will take us, and return. Probably about six miles altogether.
