SHAKESPEARE'S Globe is delighted to announce that Janie Dee and Aden Gillett will star as the fairy lovers Titania and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream performing at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre next week.

The production will be a reworking of the Globe’s award-winning 2013 version, directed by Dominic Dromgoole, designed by Jonathan Fensom and composed by Claire van Kampen.

It will be the tenth time the three have collaborated and they will be joined by Joe Murphy as associate director.

Double Olivier Award-winner, Janie Dee last appeared on the Globe stage in 2011 as the Countess of Roussillon in John Dove’s production of All’s Well that Ends Well.

Janie is a West End regular and has recently appeared in Noises Off (Old Vic), Blithe Spirit (Gielgud Theatre) and Putting it Together (St James Theatre).

In 1999 she won Best Actress at the Olivier Awards, the Evening Standard Awards and the Critics’ Circle Awards for her performance as Jacie in Alan Ayckbourn's Comic Potential at the Lyric - the only other actress to have accomplished this hat trick at the time was Dame Judi Dench.

Her role as Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel (National Theatre) earned her another Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical, and last year she won the TMA UK Theatre Award 2013 for Best Performance in a Musical for her role as Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly! (Curve, Leicester).

Aden Gillett recently starred as Sir Colenso Ridgeoin in George Bernard Shaw’s The Doctor’s Dilemma (National Theatre), and won a Best Actor Award (Off West End Stage Awards, 2012) for his turn as Will in Accolade (Finborough Theatre). He is known for his long-running role as Jack Maddox in the BBC TV series The House of Eliott, as well as for his extensive career in film, including The Revolt, Shadow of the Vampire and The Borrowers.

The set will be a miniature version of the stage at the Bankside Globe, complete with the iconic pillars, balcony and hand-painted detailing. A Midsummer Night's Dream is at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre September 10 to 14 at 7.30pm, with Thu, Sat and Sun matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets range from £15 to £32.90 from www.atgtickets.com/aylesbury or call 0844 8717607.
