MUSIC, poetry and stories are all things Susan Lacey has been working on throughout her life but never had the chance to have published - until now.

A debut song and a book of her poetry are both on the market but that's just the start of a flood of creativity coming from the mind of the grandmother from Chesham.

Describing herself as a young 66-year-old, she's been keeping busy on a number of projects on a whole range of genres.

Her book 'At the drop of a hat' was recently published and she's just teamed up with her goddaughter Daisy Soul, an accomplished singer, to release her first piece of music, entitled 'On the back of a tear'.

It's availabel to download and has so far been proving popular.

Susan said: "It's got a high popularity rating. One of the reviews said, 'What a lovely song, this would sound good on a Disney movie. I can't wait to hear another song by you.'

"Me and Daisy got in touch again after many years of not seeing each other and I thought it would be nice to do a song with her, which she was very pleased to do.

"I wrote it, we worked on it and tweaked it until we got it how we wanted it to be.

"At the moment I don't know if there's anything else we will be doing but I'll certainly be in contact with her."

The former secretary now has the taste for releasing even more of her work into the public domain.

She said: "I'm always writing songs, I've got over 100 to my name. I'm a very inspirational sort of person - the ideas just flow.

"When I was a little girl I didn't realise I had the talent I have now. I used to sit down at the piano and had the ability then to compose a song out of nothing.

"I had piano lessons as a youngster. My mum pushed me into that but now I'm thanking her for making me do it. They gave me a head start and now I can write almost anything.

"I've written lots of children's stories - I feel that's where I need to go to feel satisfied with everything. They just need to be released to the world.

"I've been working solidly for 30 to 40 years and now I have the time to bring this all out."
