The Chiltern Music Academy launch
CMA, a registered charity, was formed in July 2014 by a group of like-minded parents and music professionals whose vision is to create an independent music academy which will nurture and support the developing musician in every child.  Children between the ages of seven and 19 will be able to attend. Wheelin Wheelers
Pauline Parker has started a new sports club Wheelin Wheelers for people who are wheelchair users.  The club will meet from 1 to 3pm every Sunday in September at Handy Cross Sports Centre for a game of basketball, badminton, table tennis and other potential sports in the pipeline. The Archaeology of First World War Trenches
A talk by David Greenwood and Norman Groves. This talk has been organised as part of the activities to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the First World War and complements the program organised by Marlow Remembers WW1. It will examine the archaeology and the impact that the training trenches in Marlow and Berkhamsted had upon the local population. Dave Greenwood will provide the background behind the trenches in Marlow and explain the archaeological investigations that have been undertaken to date. Norman Groves will explain the impact that the stationing of troops had on the Berkhamsted area and the archaeological investigations into the trenches there. Heritage open day- The Graveyard Shift in Berkhamsted 
Rectory Lane Cemetery launch new initiative to reclaim this space. Why not explore one of Berkhamsted’s hidden treasures? A horse drawn hearse will parade from St Peters to the Rectory Lane cemetery and a release of doves will begin proceedings. The event will launch a new project to enhance this green retreat in the heart of the town and so a consultation (zone) team will be there to get feedback and ideas. Visitors will be able to learn about masonry skills and what the symbols on memorials mean, follow a nature trail or a guided tour of the War graves or watch demonstrations of outdoor yoga. Also direct from the 1860s the Watson family of the Social Living History group will demonstrate what life (and death) would have been like in Berkhamsted then. Laying the Ghost
Simon Williams’ theatrical writing skills are well illustrated in this play which centres around the former wife, current wife and latest mistress of an ageing actor. Jarred Christmas

Home Front Henley
To mark the centenary of the First World War, the River & Rowing Museum’s new exhibition, Home Front Henley, reflects on Henley throughout 1914-1918. Opening this autumn, the museum will explore how the lives of Henley’s local residents were dramatically changed during the Great War. Home Front Henley includes fascinating objects, photos and stories from the people of Henley, painting a picture of what life would have been like, for both Henley and other communities across the Thames Valley. Charity Concert 
In aid of the Princes Centre in Princes Risborough. The concert features the renowned pianist Philip Fowke and the Archaeus Quartet. Oh What A Lovely War
It is a theatrical chronicle of the First World War told through the songs, speeches and letters of the period. Interspersed with newspanels and pictures, it is an accounty of the people who lived and died in the conflict. Celebration of Song 
Two choirs from Seer Green will come together for a celebratory concert with a wide-ranging programme of choral music, from classical, to West End musicals, jazz and pop. The popular ladies’ choir, Village Voices, and the recently-formed men’s choir will each perform their own repertoires and sing together for part of the concert.  Charlotte Yeoman, local professional singer, will also perform. The choirs’ annual concert takes places for the first time at the Barbirolli Hall, St Clemen Danes School, Chorleywood.  They have previously performed in churches in Old Amersham and Old Beaconsfield but their growing popularity that a larger venue is needed.
