1. CELEBRATE the genius of Roald Dahl tomorrow in Great Missenden. It would have been the author's birthday and to celebrate the Roald Dahl Museum in the High Street is holding at day of events and activities from 11am. There will be a Golden Ticket trail, magic, face-painting and Oompa-Loompa led tours. There will be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory talks, guided village trails, storytelling and a fancy dress competition (so get your Roald Dahl related outfits ready). 2. JOIN in with the Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge this Sunday from 9.30am at the Princes Risborough School in Merton Road. Join Iain Rennie Grove House for their own version of the famous national challenge and experience the beautiful scenery along part of the Ridgeway National Trail, taking in Whiteleaf Cross, Coombe Hill and Ivinghoe Beacon. The event will start and finish at Princes Risborough School and you can choose to walk either five, nine or 18 miles around the Chilterns. It is a fantastic opportunity to enter as a team and spend quality time together with your family, friends or work colleagues. Children of all ages are more than welcome and you can even bring the dog along too. 3. HEARING Dogs for Deaf People will be opening its doors this Sunday for its Late Summer Show from 11am to 4pm at its grounds in Saunderton. Highlights include an all-day fun dog show, hearing dog demonstrations and kids fun zone. The Fun Dog Show will take place in the main arena and visitors will be asked to enter their dogs into categories such as Waggiest Tail, Most Appealing Eyes and Best Trick. The dog show will be judged by vet Judy Puddifoot from the current TV programme on BBC 2 - Young Vets. The charity’s clever canines will also be showing off their skills in hearing dog demonstrations throughout the day and the main arena will see a parade of vintage and show cars and children will be kept busy in the Kids Fun Zone with bouncy castles, face painting and can have-a-go on the HamsterZorbs. 5. MARLOW'S very own Last Night of the Proms will feature the ever-popular Marlow Music Makers, singing a selection of their recent material, and the Marlow Ukelele Group (MUG for short) who somehow manage to strum and sing at the same time. They plan to finish the evening by joining in with the thousands in London and elsewhere singing Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.
