Doug MacLeod 
Doug is a travelling artist; writing and singing songs about his life and experiences. He learned from the old masters, carrying forward the valuable tradition of storytelling, creating characters in his songs. He is known for his superb song writing, warm, soulful voice, incredible guitar work and atmospheric live performances. As a child, Doug used music to overcome his crippling stutter, finding his voice when he picked up a guitar and tried to sing. He developed his unique, unorthodox and rhythmic guitar playing, alternating a powerful beat with intricate bottleneck and finger-style technique. Blake and Camilla Kerslake

The Marlow Community Choir at Borlase 
Is inviting singers to come and join it in a performance of Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius at Eton College School Hall  on Saturday, January 24 next year. The performance will have a full orchestral accompaniment and three professional soloists: Daniel Joy - Tenor (Gerontius), Jeanette Ager - Mezzo soprano (The Angel) and John Heighway - Bass (The Priest). John Newton - Amazing Grace
Churches Together in Marlow are hosting a performance by Saltmine Theatre Company. The Buckingham Canal - Its History, Heritage & Future

The official charity partner is Walking With The Wounded, which is a UK based charity which secures employment for wounded service men and women. Dog show

Gala fun dog show 
Lucky dogs who have owners will be going on show to help unfortunate homeless dogs in Bucks and Oxfordshire. Stokenchurch Dog Rescue is holding a fun dog show in its Oxford Road kennels grounds with lots of fun classes plus a photographic contest. The 50-year-old charity usually has about 50 dogs in need of new homes and so the show will fund their welfare. The classes for photos include best action shot, family group (with humans), most appealing expression, funniest shot and best in show. Small fee to enter. In the dog show there are classes for puppies up to a year, seniors (aged over seven), the rescued and rehomed, waggiest tail, most handsome, prettiest bitch, best miniature, gentle giant and best in show. Entry is £2 per dog in each class. There will also be a range of stalls and stands, kennel tours, and staffie agility displays.

Free health meetings
Local business woman and mum of two Emma Symons has launched the Community Health Commitment in Aylesbury as one of the first UK events for this global health initiative. They aim to educate and support people and possibly help them avoid too many trips to the GP.  CHC is based around a weekly meeting led by Emma, who will be offering anyone from Aylesbury and the surrounding villages the opportunity to get free support for general health and weight management issues as well as those looking for help to manage their diabetes and asthma or wanting to stop smoking for example. Each CHC meeting is free to visitors and will take place every Tuesday (alternate weeks in the morning or evening, venues to be confirmed) with a theme for every meeting.  Please check the CHC Facebook page for regular updates.

The Horne Section 
The show has been selected by Norden Farm’s Young Curators - a group of local 16 to 25 year olds. They have travelled the country looking for the best shows to bring to the stage in Maidenhead. The group saw founding member Alex Horne perform and recommended the Maidenhead venue book him and his act. The Horne Section brings together some of the UK’s finest musicians and comedians for a show of comedy, great music, and a spectacular performance. They have recently finished a series on BBC Radio 4 and were the winners of the Best Musical Act at the Chortle Awards this year.
