Assisted Scrabble event
The aim of this event is to enable folk who are unable to play Scrabble on their own, to participate in a friendly game, with the aid of a partner. Enter the Inventing Room with Victoria Glass
For 6+ years: an hour of fun in Willy Wonka’s Inventing Room with our splendiferous food writer in residence, Victoria Glass. You’ll become an Oompa Loompa and find out how your senses can trick you through phizz whizzing taste-tests. If you dare, you can try grasshopper, yuzu, popping candy and squid ink. You’ll end by making a truffle with a twist that will either be delumptious or disgusterous. We recommend pre-booking as workshops can sell out in advance. Let your imagination run wild and come up with your own invention for a new crazy cake - or even crake - and she’ll help it become a reality. Harry Potter Book Night
February will see the first ever Harry Potter Book Night celebrated throughout
the world and here, at Great Missenden Community Library, we’re getting ready for our own special evening of wizard activities. On Harry Potter Book Night, we’ll be sharing the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable stories. Here at Great Missenden library young wizards, witches and Muggles will be treated to an evening of games, activities, readings and quizzes. It all begins when the Sorting Hat decides who will be in which House. There will be readings from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Army cadets - 3rd (Missenden) Platoon

Richard Alston Dance Company
Proudly celebrating its twentieth year, Richard Alston Dance Company returns to the Waterside with a knock-out new programme showcasing Alston’s superbly skilled choreography. Rejoice in the Lamb is a joyous company piece by Richard Alston with beautiful music by Benjamin Britten. Burning, Martin Lawrance’s latest piece, is inspired by the Dante Sonata of Franz Liszt, played live onstage. It’s an intensely dramatic dance, immediately greeted with rapture by critics and audiences alike. In his classic Overdrive, Alston takes up the pulsating rhythm of modern Californian composer Terry Riley’s music and runs with it to the wire. Forum Players present: Cinderella
There is still time to enjoy Forum Players panto with this Saturday being the last production date. Cinderella offers something for everyone. As usual there’s a chance to answer back, shout warnings and join in with the traditional “It’s behind you!” – the perfect ingredients for a great afternoon or evening. Live music will be accompanying the songs and setting the scene in the panto. Before the final scene children in the audience will be invited on stage to sing with some of the cast. Fame the Musical
It is nothing short of a global phenomenon: First came the hit movie, then the long-running TV series, and now the screen sensation of the 1980’s is a stage sensation! And if the smash-hit West End production is any indication, Fame – The Musical is indeed gonna live forever.
Set during the last years of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street, Fame – The Musical is a bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a group of students as they commit to 4 years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today: prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy, sexuality, substance abuse and perseverance.

The Cat in the Hat

Alun Cochrane
Comedian Alun Cochrane brings his show Me Neither to Norden Farm next month. Me Neither takes the audience on flights of fancy through the day-to-day world. Alun finds comedy in every part of his life, from his mortgage to his clothes, and travelling on trains to watching football. Fairport Convention
Hailed as the originators of British folk-rock music, Fairport Convention remains one of the most entertaining bands on the live music scene. The Three Degrees
The Three Degrees are an American female vocal group, formed in 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group has remained a trio with 2 original members since Sheila Ferguson left many moons ago. The Three Degrees are well known for their soulful voices, beautiful gowns, and fabulous stage shows. They are known all around the world for songs like “When will I see you again”, “Dirty Ol’ Man”, “Take Good Care Of Yourself”. Purple Zeppelin
Featured in the BBC TV documentary “The Joy of the Guitar Riff”, Purple Zeppelin are proud to pay tribute to the two greatest Rock Bands of all time, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin – Together on the same bill for the very first time! Many years have passed since the last UK gigs from the classic line-ups of both bands. Always Irving Berlin
Irving Berlin is considered to be one of the greatest songwriters in American history. His music forms a large part of the Great American Songbook. His songs have been sung by Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday amongst others. Join Robert Habermann for an evening of golden-age music, with timeless songs and much-loved tracks, all from the inimitable Irving Berlin. Robert Habermann specialises in singing the Great American Songbook and has performed in the UK and America. The Marrakesh Express: A tribute to The Byrds and Crosby Stills Nash and Young
A live performance of music from The Byrds and Crosby Stills Nash & Young - remarkable music from a remarkable time. The Marrakesh Express are John Butler, Rick Wilson, and Adam Ellis. Together these three great voices deliver a note perfect performance of some of the finest harmony singing in all music. Seann Walsh – 28
Seann Walsh has managed to search deep inside himself to find the inner strength to get out of bed and all the way into his support act's car, parked just outside his flat just for you. Before you commend him too much for this act of heroism, be aware he will sleep in the car. In his last show ’The Lie-In King’, 2013 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Seann was living alone and trying to sort himself out. At 28 years of age he returns with his aptly named new show ’28’ where he is now living with his girlfriend, and she is trying to sort him out. Star of Channel 4’s ‘Stand Up For The Week’, BBC1’s ‘Live At The Apollo’ and ‘Michael McIntryre’s Comedy Roadshow’, and Dave’s ‘Argumental’, Seann is a charming and charismatic natural born observational storyteller, and one of the most frighteningly precocious talents to emerge from the UK comedy circuit in years.
