With the warmer weather comes festivals and High Wycombe has got two to look forward to this month.

The new Wycombe Fringe Festival starts this year in partnership with Wycombe Arts Festival, with the aim of showcasing the best music venues in the town – with most venues offering entertainment for free.

From the April 25 to May 31, festival goers can experience live music and comedy from local talent in pubs, clubs and bars across High Wycombe.

Open mic’s, jam sessions and cover bands will keep live music fans entertained and gifted new rock band, Space Elevator is set to play at the Arts4Every1 Centre in Desborough Road on 9 May.

Free music workshops are also on offer for children and adults alike, with sessions in percussion and harmonica techniques.

Virtual abstract artist P. Letts and his team of highly skilled artists, who make up StreetArtDrop, will be creating works of arts while the audience watches on 26 April. The pieces will then be dropped off at secret locations across High Wycombe ready for art fans to find, with help from clues on their Facebook page.

Street artist Dien Holland will be joining StreetArtDrop for the day and will answer questions about the graffiti art scene and keen creators can even get involved and paint their own canvasses.

Wycombe Arts Festival is set to run alongside, starting on April 25 and featuring a stained glass workshop, a performance from skilled musician Julian Lloyd Webber and a performance of Steel Magnolias by Lane End Players.

The first event of the Arts Festival will see world famous street theatre company, Ana Monro, all the way from Ljubljana, Slovenia, working with local theatre students to put on a performance of ‘Alone in the Crowd’.
