An amateur dramatics society is set to pay tribute to former South Bucks resident and Bucks Free Press reporter Terry Pratchett with their latest production.

The Marlow Players will stage the late author's work 'Unseen Academicals' in November and are looking for budding actors to join the company.

The group, which has been entertaining audiences for more than 75 years, needs volunteers to ensure the show can go on.

Beaconsfield born author Sir Terry died in March at the age of 66 after suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

In a prolific career, he wrote more than 70 books and despite being diagnosed in 2007, he continued writing and completed his final book last summer.

He joined the Free Press when he was still at school, with his emerging talents as a fiction writer fostered during his time with the paper.

Gloria Kendrick Hurst of the Marlow Players said the group plans to donate part of the proceeds from the show to the Alzheimer's Society.
