Elton John and his band took to the Floating Stage at Henley Festival last night (July 6), opening the UK’s only black tie festival.

The first of the five days was sold out with 7,000 people flocking to the riverside. Elton opened with The Bitch is Back and closed his set with Circle of Life and Can you Feel the Love Tonight to a standing ovation.

There were several celebrities in the audience, including David Furnish, David Walliams, Alan Titchmarsh, Sir Steve Redgrave, Lord Hutton, Mike Reid and Steve Ryder.

Elton’s full set list was The Bitch is Back, I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues, Philadelphia Freedom, Looking Up, Good Heart, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Your Song, Sad Songs, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me, I’m still Standing, Your Sister Can’t Twist, and returning for an encore with Candle in the Wind, Crocodile Rock, Circle of Life and Can you Feel the Love Tonight.

Elvis Costello will headline tonight, (July 7) and the festival will concludes on Sunday (July 10) with a performance by Will Young, with an array of comedians, cabaret acts and singers over the weekend.
