1. There is a Victorian weekend at Hughenden Manor on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-5.30pm. The National Trust property has a full timetable of events to experience life in Victorian time from Mr Punch versus the Czar, Zulu War, Victorian football, The Charge of the Light Brigade and many more. 2. Country sports fans bemoaning the cancellation of the biggest event on their calendar have cause for celebration after a south Bucks club stepped in to save the day. The E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground in Lane End is putting on its own event at the shooting ground in Park Lane, Lane End, between 9am and 5pm on Friday and Saturday. It was organised after the CLA Game Fair in Leicestershire was axed due to the ‘summer’ weather. The fair will feature a host of shooting competitions, 4x4 off-roading, helicopter tours of the Chilterns, archery, stalls, artists and more. It is a free event. 3. On Saturday there is chance to learn more about keeping bees. The High Wycombe Beekeeping Taster Day runs from 10:30am-2pm near Saunderton. The address is given on request. 4. Have you ever seen a glow-worm? Well now is your chance. There is a organised walk on Saturday from Brush Hill, near Princes Risborough. The walk starts at 9.45pm until 11pm and is an opportunity to see and learn more about these fascinating creatures.
