A SINGING hopeful is aiming for stardom after making it through to the London finals of the UK's Teenstar singing competition.

Katie Gill, 10, from Seer Green beat hundreds of other hopefuls and will now perform live at The Beck Theatre in Hayes on May 18.

She began singing at seven and performed in nativity plays at school.

Katie's mum, Ann, said "The family are over the moon that Katie got through to the London final. We are very proud of her, she is our superstar."

She melted hearts at her parents' wedding last year when she sang Adele's Make you feel my love for the couple's first wedding dance.

If Katie wins the next heat she will go on to perform at grand final in Birmingham in July.

She stands the chance of winning £5,000 in cash.

The competition is divided into age categories - Late Teens (16-19), Mid Teens (13-15) and a special category Pre-Teens which is the category Katie is in.

Future Music who run the TeenStar competition also discovered artists such as Jacob Banks, Warner Music's Birdy, Columbia Records' Lucy Spraggan and union J's Jaymi Hensley and Jahmene Douglas.
