STEVE Ashall, bus driver and band member from the band, The Kez, has teamed up with bass player Pete Trewayas from Marillion to produce a charity single in aid of the Vale Federation schools for special needs.

For the last six years, Steve has worked as a bus driver for the Vale Federation Schools for special needs children who live within 20 miles of Aylesbury; this includes Stocklake Park, Booker Parker and Harding House.

Tribute band The Kez was formed when Steve and The Kez guitarist Doug Hearn joined forces back in 1970 when they attended Cesterham Secondary School together.

Steve and Doug, who has a current day time job with Bucks CC Schools, have now been playing in gigs together for more than 40 years and still have the same passion for music as they did back then when it all began.

They have written many songs in their past, one of which was recently chosen by the school to be their charity fundraising single for 2014. Kez got to work on Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus, the chosen charity single, in March, with the help of Chrissie Hammond who has appeared in the West End musical Cats, and Robin Boult, Howard Jones and Fish guitarist. Steve said: "Robin Boult then suggested Pete Trewayas from Marillion could play bass, so he contacted him which was great. Pete came to the studio on May 21 and added bass plus keyboard parts to the charity single- brilliant."

The single has been released to raise money for the school charity called MASKS, (Make A Special Kid Smile) founded in May 2005, who is fully committed to supporting the Vale Federation of special schools.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus was released on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby on June 9 and all proceeds from any downloads are going directly into the MASKS bank account to help fund the charity.
