Prestival is set to return to Great Missenden for the third year in a row tomorrow, all in aid of charity.

The music festival is back bigger than ever, and has lined up seven hours of live performances by local bands, covering an eclectic mix of rock, pop, beatbox, folk and chart covers.

The family friendly festival will start welcoming visitors from 3pm on Saturday, 6 June, in the field next to the Black Horse Pub, Great Missenden.

This year’s talented line up is headed by former X Factor contestants Duke who are making a return to the Prestival stages after they wowed crowds last year with their beatbox act.

As well as Duke, Nuclear Grooves, Lost Minute, NBS and Mike Fab-Gere and the Permissive Society will entertain audiences.

Local band Prestwood Fridays will kick off the festival in style, having recently reformed and added a new member, guitarist Ernie Hayes’ wife, aged 71.

Lost Minute, who have been gigging around the clubs and bars of Aylesbury Vale for several years with their mix of original tunes, written by their lead guitarist Danny West, and cover songs, will take to the stage before Nuclear Grooves, an 11-piece band from the Academy of Contemporary Music perform, bringing with them am diverse mix of horns and vocals that bring out the best in modern RnB.

Mike Fab-Gere and his band the Permissive Society will bring alive the sounds of the 60s, 70s and 80s and NBS will finish the evening with a powerful set of rock and pop anthems.

As well as a licensed bar there will be wood fired pizzas, hog roast and a barbecue available throughout the day along with child friendly activity stalls being run by and in support of Prestwood Colts Football Club.

The proceeds from all ticket sales, plus contributions from the bands will go directly to three chosen charities; Cancer Research UK, Soldiering On and Headway, the Brain Injury Association.

Chiltern Music Therapy, which provides music therapy services to people of all ages, has also been chosen as a beneficiary.
