Reading Festival is back with a bang – prepare to be entertained by headliners Mumford & Sons, The Libertines and the mighty Metallica.

The three-day event will be held at its usual venue Richfield Avenue, Reading, over the August Bank Holiday weekend, August 28 to 30.

Sunset Sons will be storming The Festival Republic Stage on Friday night. Here drummer Jed speaks about his return to the festival:

What are you looking forward to when playing Reading Festival this year?

Last year, Reading was our first real taste of ‘proper’ festival culture. We played the BBC Introducing stage and were blown away by the crowd reaction and the volume of people. We’re looking forward to more of the same and a few ciders...

What do you have planned?

We plan on playing a few tunes and having a good time!

What is your essential item to have on tour with you?

Rusty, our tour manager. We won’t leave the beach to go on tour without him.

Describe your sound in five words?

Bass, Drums, Guitars, Keys, Vocals!

What day job did you have to do before making it in the music industry?

I used to teach surfing. It was a day job of sorts. Quite a lot of nights too when I come to think of it.

What’s next for the band?

We’re gonna finish out the festival season. We have a few more in Germany, Switzerland and Holland, and a few more in the UK – Reading of course! Festival season has been hectic for us this year. We’re playing about 30. But we’re not complaining. We have our new single ‘She Wants’ coming out August 14th. Then we’re gonna finish our record in September and go out on the road with Imagine Dragons across the UK and Europe to see out the year. Busy busy!
