RETURNING for the second year, Penn Festival has announced this summer's line up with a mix of influential artists from the 70s through to the 90s.

After its successful first year (see links below)organisers have already confirmed Soul II Soul, Snap!, Rozalla, The Beat, The Real Thing and Altered Images.

The festival will run from July 7-8 at The Big Park in Penn Street on land owned by Lord and Countess Howe and will also provide a platform for the best of unsigned acts in the area and further afield. Organisers Manjit Jaspal and Nick Billinghurst describe it as "music festival meets village fete" and aim to create an intimate and friendly crowd.

Manjit said: “Last year, nearly 2000 people enjoyed some great bands over the weekend and the weather was pretty kind too. We got ourselves nominated for three awards in the UK Festival Awards which was nice and we are looking forward to making this year’s festival even better.”

As well as bands there will be street theatre, free creative workshops, cinema, local ales, wholesome food, children's ativities and entertainment, open air yoga and more.

Camping will be available on site and there will also be ‘glamping ’ - posh camping provided by Hotel Bell Tent for those who like a little luxury and don’t want he hassle of setting up a tent.

Tickets go on sale on Friday. Save 20% off the first 50 tickets bought. Early bird tickets (which include free entry to the Friday night worth £10) are: adult weekend £42.50 (full price £53); child weekend £18.50 (full price £23); family weekend (2+2) £102.50 (full price £128).
