BIZET’S CARMEN - REVIEW

After seeing Ellen Kent’s “amphitheatre” production of Carmen at the Wycombe Swan, in the version using Guiraud’s recitatives, one can understand why it is one of the most popular operas ever written, including, as it does, Bizet’s fine string of melodies and choruses.
