“I killed Mum… just like I killed Lucy.”

It was a dramatic end to EastEnders when Bobby Beale interrupted Stacey and Martin’s wedding to tell his dad – and the whole of the Queen Vic – that he’d just beaten his stepmum Jane with a hockey stick AND he was responsible for Lucy’s murder.

Viewers had seen Bobby attack Jane after she tried to pull him out of boarding school, but it was his confession that he had killed Lucy, a crime Max Branning is currently serving 20 years in prison for, that really shocked fans.

Ian, desperate to protect his family, then made the ludicrous decision to try to escape with Bobby until Mick Carter stopped them in their tracks.

With the police called, Bobby, played by Eliot Carrington, will soon be facing up to the consequences of his actions, while Jane fights for her life in hospital.

What will Bobby’s shock confession mean? Will he be sentenced for Lucy’s murder? And will Jane survive her attack?

It was a shocking twist for many viewers.

Although people though Ian’s reaction was a little understated.

And plenty of people were happy that time was up for murderous Bobby.

EastEnders returns on BBC One at 7.30pm.
