Rita Ora has teased that fans will hear an “older version of Rita” in her new music as she prepares to release a new album – and head out on tour.

The pop star released her first album Ora in 2012 – but, except for her collaborations including Black Widow and Coming Home and her singles I Will Never Let You Down, Body On Me and Poison, she has been in radio silence ever since.

The reason? A major dispute with record label Roc Nation over her contract, with Rita saying she had not been able to release new music. After a court battle, Rita has now signed with Atlantic Records and the second album is finally on its way.

The 25-year-old told the Press Association: “Oh my god, I am so excited! I really have such a good feeling and vibe around my new material, I’m just so, so happy to be in the studio making music again and I can’t wait to tour and let my new fans hear.”

Speaking after the launch of the new and improved Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, she added: “My new music is a older version of Rita.

“However, I don’t want to give too much away – you’ll have to listen!”

Rita is fresh from filming her scenes as Mia in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker and said she had been able to develop the character, who was only briefly seen in the first movie.

She said: “It was great to return to Mia, as it was a chance to get to develop Mia and my bond on set with everyone.”

And there may be more Hollywood projects in the pipeline, with Rita teasing: “Oohhhhhhh, maybe, maybe not. You’ll just have to wait and see!”
