He’s just been signed as the new co-host of The X Factor’s spin-off show The Xtra Factor, but Rylan Clark-Neal has confessed that he thinks his boss Simon Cowell would make a boring housemate on Celebrity Big Brother.

Rylan, who came fifth place as a contestant on the ITV series back in 2012, hosts CBB spin-off show Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, and shared his opinions over his dream housemates, and why Simon just wouldn’t make great TV.

Speaking to Press Association, he said: “The thing is with Simon, he’s actually really chilled. He won’t take in a lot of clothes, he won’t need three suitcases.

“He’ll just sit there. As long as he’s got his cigarettes and a bottle of wine he’d be happy. With all due respect, he’d be the most boring of housemates!

The affable TV personality added: “He’d get on with everyone. He’s actually really nice!”

However, he stressed to add that returning X Factor judge and long-time companion to Simon, Louis Walsh, would be fantastic on CBB.

“Louis, on the other hand… Big Brother would have a field day. He knows everything about everyone and he’d tell it!” he joked.

While Rylan won’t be recommending Simon takes part in the Channel 5 series any time soon, he did reveal who his three dream celebrities would be.

He confessed his trio of talent for the CBB house would be models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, and acting icon Joan Collins.

“They’d all have a row over rations. Yeah, take away their cigarettes and watch what happens,” he laughed.

Rylan was recently confirmed as the new co-host of The Xtra Factor alongside Matt Edmonson, taking over from last year’s presenters Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom.

The busy TV star has just presented Big Brother’s companion show Bit on the Side for the past few months during the regular show, before the celebrity version kicks off on Thursday.

Celebrity Big Brother stars on Thursday on Channel 5 at 9pm.
