Jennifer Aniston has reportedly married her fiance of three years, Justin Theroux, in a top-secret ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.
The 46-year-old Friends star met Justin many years ago, but it was on the set of their 2012 film Wanderlust that romance blossomed between the two. The 43-year-old actor proposed shortly afterwards.
While the couple haven’t as yet confirmed they are man and wife, the internet is buzzing with gossip from the star-studded private bash. Here’s what we’ve learned so far about the wedding.
1. There was a ruse to keep it secret
According to Us Weekly, guests were told the party was for Justin Theroux’s 44th birthday on August 10. They didn’t find out it was a wedding until they arrived – although a select few were allowed in on the secret.
A shed was built to house all the wedding supplies and everything was kept under wraps until the day itself.
2. The wedding was packed with famous guests
A-list guests included former Friends co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox, as well as Ellen DeGeneres with her wife Portia de Rossi, Chelsea Handler, Jimmy Kimmel, Sia, Terry Richardson and Howard Stern.
3. Maid of honour
People magazine has reported that Courteney was Jen’s maid of honour, and was actually the last guest to leave, holding out until 3am. The two have been close since they started filming Friends in 1994.
4. Honeymoon destination
The newly-weds were pictured boarding a private jet believed to be heading to the small South Pacific island of Bora Bora. The couple holidayed there last summer to mark their two-year engagement, according to the Daily Mail.
5. The guests helped to provide entertainment and photography
According to Us Weekly, Sia performed her hit Chandelier, while Jen’s photographer friend Terry Richardson – who has shot celebs from Miley Cyrus to Marilyn Manson – was on hand to snap photos of the big day.
6. The venue
The garden of the couple’s 22 million dollar (£14.2 million) Bel Air mansion was decked out for the summer wedding. Aerial photographs show there were chairs set out for 74 guests.
7. The cake
Pictures taken by TMZ showed what appeared to be a cake with two characters on top. Another snap showed a pastor or clergyman arriving at their home before the ceremony.
8. Her mother wasn’t at the wedding
Jennifer has a difficult relationship with her mother Nancy Dow, who wasn’t at the nuptials and was apparently not invited, despite the two seemingly reconciling last year.
9. Wedding rings
Jennifer and Justin’s wedding rings were designed by long-time friend Jennifer Meyer, wife of Tobey Maguire, E! News has reported. Jennifer also designed Courteney’s engagement ring, and has crafted jewellery for other stars including Beyonce, Jessica Biel and Blake Lively.
