Kieron Dyer announced that he was quitting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but changed his mind after a pep talk from Chris Eubank.

After a row broke out in the camp, Kieron told Lady Colin Campbell and Susannah Constantine: “I’m going, I’m quitting the show.”

He walked into the Bush Telegraph and said the magic words: “I want to leave, I’m a celebrity, get me out of here.”

But when he went to say his goodbyes, the former footballer was persuaded to stay by boxer Chris.

Chris told him: “You’re a sportsman, that’s not what we do.

“I’d like to get to know you better, we’ve made a connection here and it could grow.”

Kieron said: “After that pep talk I was like ‘I want to make my kids proud’.

“So I’m going to do everything I can to stay as long as possible … Chris has spoken some sense into me.”

The blow-out argument happened when Lady C, Chris and Kieron returned from their night in the Jungle Boutique Hotel and asked why Jorgie Porter and Tony Hadley had refused to serve them as their chambermaid and bell boy.

After Lady C clashed with the rest of the contestants, Brian Friedman told her she was being rude by speaking over people.

She replied: “Who the hell are you to speak about talking, my dear? You have verbal diarrhoea, not only do you have verbal diarrhoea, you are so full of shit that if you ever took an enema you would disappear off the face of the Earth without trace.

“Be careful who you take on, dear baby boy, some people actually have sharper tongues than you, self-important little runt. Desperate for attention and can’t get any.”

Kieron sided with Lady C and was disappointed to see her under attack in the camp.

But after deciding not to quit, he said: “My greatest challenge in the jungle is yet to come. I’m going to get everyone to love Lady C and I’m going to get Lady C to not curse and not put people down.”

Meanwhile, it was American dancer and choreographer Brian’s turn for a Bushtucker Trial, as he faced the Critter Shop of Horrors.

He had to move 500g of cockroaches, 20 toads, a pen-full of rats, five pythons, five mud crabs, four eels and a lizard between their boxes, cages and tanks.

“The last time I handled a snake was in 2001 at the MTV VMAs when Britney had the python,” he told hosts Ant and Dec.

Ant commented: “That’s a very showbizzy snake story.”

Faced with the crabs, Brian said: “Mantra: I am strong, I am brave – it’s funny, as I say it I don’t even believe it.”

But he was able to complete the entire trial, earning 12 stars and 12 meals for his team.

The episode also saw Vicky Pattison chosen by the public as the new leader.

“With great power, comes great responsibility … I learnt that from Harry Potter”, she said.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs on ITV every night.
